Food Services

The Friendship House state of the art commercial kitchen provides our members the opportunity to train in a number of areas of food service including food prep, baking, serving, and kitchen maintenance.  The Food Service Director and food service instructors work to provide focused and individualized training to members who want to learn the skills for working in the food service industry.

The Friendship House commercial kitchen prepares and delivers nearly 1500 meals daily to a number of clients including adult day care facilities, mental health agencies, and pre-schools.  In addition, breakfast and lunch are served in the Friendship House cafeteria to our members.  In total nearly 2000 meals are prepared each day and the members have a hand in nearly every morsel.

In addition to our contract catering and cafeteria, Friendship House has a full scale special event catering department.  We can cater any event or meeting from four to four hundred people.  Whether it is a full scale company barbeque, sandwich platters for a meeting, or passed hors d'oeuvres for a cocktail party, Friendship House Catering is ready to take care of all your needs.

The Friendship House members are the drive behind our kitchen.  Their training allows them to work independently on projects throughout the day for the commercial kitchen.  In addition to daily duties, specialized training classes are offered every afternoon.  Some special classes include topics in baking, healthy eating, dinner prepartion, and basic knife skills.
