Supported Employment

Job Coaches work with members in our day program when they are ready for outside employment as well as individuals who are referred directly by the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS).

Our Supported Employment program provides members with an individualized employment approach in three stages:

  • Stage 1 – Pre-Placement – Job Coaches assist members with resumes, applications, and interviewing skills as well as conducting an employment search to secure an appropriate match.
  • Stage 2 – Intensive Job Coaching – Once employment is secured, Job Coaches work with members at the work site teaching hands-on skills needed to succeed. Additionally, they ensure members understand all aspects of the job and any accommodations needed are implemented.
  • Stage 3 – Long Term Follow Along – Job Coaches continue providing support directly at the work site assisting members in maintaining community employment.

Throughout the supported employment stages, Job Coaches address any communication, socialization, and/or behavior issues affecting the members overall performance as well as educating the employer about members’ abilities.
